Understanding Motor Noise and The Role of Permanent Magnets and Assemblies
Motor noise is a very important factor in many applications ranging from domestic use to industrial use. Loud noise not only impacts the operation, productivity and effectiveness of the motor but also makes the environment intolerable and unbearable. Some of the common factors that affect motor noise include quality and design of the Permanent Magnets and Assemblies in the motor. Stators also have permanent magnets that are used to produce the magnetic fields which are required for the motor. However, the magnetic field produced by these magnets and rotors causes vibrations and thus noise. So it is necessary to concentrate on the issues of the motor components’ design and assembling in order to reduce the noise level. Permanent Magnets, Assemblies and Their Influence on Motor Noise Magnet Quality and Alignment: The quality of the permanent magnets in a motor has a strong influence on the noise levels. When the magnetic material is of a high quality and the distribution of magne...
